Mini Epic Part II: Here to Stay

The Mrough would not let its objective to destroy the Pimi-Mele be lost. It saw that the weakening of Faemydi was a direct result of the life thread being torn. Before it broke, the evil entity wrapped its essence around the cord and held it firm, preventing Faemydi from leaving this existence.

In time, Faemydi found that death evaded her. She had lost most of her magic, able to use only that which was attracted to her immortal form. Knowing that it was the Mrough keeping her alive, she sought a dwelling removed from any other living thing. Deep in the ground, she made a home to spend the rest of her cursed existence in. Years passed by the weakened faerie and her mind grew pained. She reformed her cave to reflect the workings of her mind. Only there could she fear no harm would come to anyone, for in her mind, the people were not real. But in that world, the Mrough would manifest itself frequently and with great anger. It tormented her and she truly wished that her life would end. Nothing would release her from her suffering, but this satisfied her. She did not deserve such peace. She would live for all eternity with the daemon that she was.

"I never wanted to die. I loved life. The life of the mortals, of the faerie dominion, of the lights. I don't want to die. I don't."

"I didn't. Not yet," she whispered.
