When she had completed her tale, she awaited the leader's reaction. Nii sat quietly, seeming to stare off into space, though she could not tell for sure, due to the glassy texture of its eyes. After a seemingly long time, the little creature looked away from her and spoke.
"We can neither help you to destroy this beast nor force it to obey our will."
"Please, you must exorcise this creature from my being! Anything that I do brings your people closer to destruction. If you do not aid me, I fear that more will fall to the Mrough." pleaded Faemydi.
"Our people have never investigated the methods of destruction, for by its very nature, obliterates that which we seek. Had we the experience you seek, you would have it, but we do not." explained Nii, "The only one that may be able to help you is the twisted mage, Blzzzrt. I believe it is not from our world, and as such may lack our morality."
"How may I seek it out?" queried Faemydi.
"We lack the ability to follow it to other realms. Only you can do that now. You are the faerie with the powers of knowledge. Use this to find Blzzzrt and follow it!"
"But the Mrough will pervert my casting!" exclaimed Faemydi.
Nii remarked, "True. I do not know the full extent of your powers. Ask yourself, how could a world portal spell be used against us? You are already in our realm."
"Yes," agreed Faemydi, unsure of herself, "I will try. For the welfare of your people."
Nii stood. Faemydi readied the spell of transport. Focussing all of her mental energy, she cast the simplest spell of world travel that she could fathom. It would only move on being to one other world. The sounds of screaming faeries entered her mind. She faltered. The spell began. A second tragedy befell the life of Faemydi.
Painful lights flared about her. The usually serene points of mirth shuddered and spiraled about her. She was torn across space through to the world that held Blzzzrt. A violet sky erupted before her. Thin dark clouds drifted above and numerous orange hills filled the landscape below. She sought out Blzzzrt, but saw the creature nowhere. In the distance, she saw what seemed a huge beehive. There were hundreds of openings and thousands of small black points swarmed in and out of it. Looking closer at the landscape, she saw that the land was filled with these black dots. They crawled over the grasses, over the purple waters, through the lilac sky. She could hear the buzzing of insect wings and saw a small swarm converging on her.
Turning around, she saw that the portal was still open and swirling behind her! It should have closed as soon as she arrived. Ignoring this oddity, she leapt through the portal, fearing the creatures more because she would be unable to use magic in her defense. The little lights in the light tunnel seemed fearful and pained. Looking behind her, Faemydi screamed with fear and anger. The creatures had entered the portal behind her. Something had gone wrong with the spell!
Faemydi flew out of the portal to see Nii, its face surprised at her quick return. The portal turned a menacing red as it filled with the ominous buzzing of huge insect wings.
