The season serpent roams the skies, buoyed aloft with a hydrogen sac in its core.  

In the summer, the snakes hover low above the ground, seeking mates and prey.  

In the winter, they float ever higher, beyond the view of those on the ground, to be carried off by the solar winds, returning next year from the opposite end of the world.  

Early trials of the tunnelling collapsing portal device have proven difficult. The prototype can thus far only form a two dimensional ribbon to the destination. Opening a circular pathway large enough for anyone to enter has been found to be impractical. It would take incredible amounts of energy, beyond anything Andonia can manage.  

However, one brave soul may be able to make it. Stickman is the only being in Andonia that can travel through a ribbon portal. He will venture forth through space to that other world, to see what happened to Doctor Xecia.

A crexiten sniffs at a peculiar marker on the ground. It is round and metal with seals all around. The centre periodically blinks with a certain organic frequency.  

The winds pick up. A storm is coming.

A Korexa scientist studies the gravitic repulsive forces of some pocket singularities. With luck, they may provide a way to tunnel through space and then collapse that conduit into a portal.  

With luck, it will create a doorway to the other world.  

With misfortune, it could rip a third of the planet millions of kilometers into open space.

Andonian scientists report a break-through in the search for the source of the Kerplah signal. A distant planet was found to be dimensionally shifted to be visible from Andonia. This planet bears a bizarre construct that intersects a massive portion of the body.  

It is from this object that the signal can be traced, though only as a relay. The true source can not be determined except by visiting this planet directly.

Rent apart, but untouched, the Sighter enters the nest.  

Twisting through the forest of strings, it settles around one.

Across the windy plains and around the mountains tall, a small walker climbs over pebbles and grass, surveying the landscape of a puddle.  

Its tiny sensors extend and feel the atmosphere. No signs of the Book. The tender arms retract and the little metal plink skitters forward, climbing bravely over a pinecone.
